Özgentürk's Documentary Screening was Held with High Participation


Birinci Plaza hosted a very meaningful event yesterday. Turkey's popular documentary director Nebil Özgentürk celebrated the Prime Minister of the time, Bülent Ecevit, who gave the order for the Cyprus Peace Operation, of which the 50th Anniversary has been attained.
The screening of the documentary "Bülent Ecevit in the taste of poetry" prepared by Özgentürk took place with a high participation, especially from politicians.

The documentary prepared for Bülent Ecevit, the Prime Minister of the Turkish government during the operation period, fascinated the audience at the Birinci Plaza.
The documentary screening of "Bülent Ecevit in the taste of poetry" by Nebil Özgentürk, one of Turkey's master documentary directors and writers, was presented to the public.

The documentary screening event was held in cooperation with Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University, Kıbrıs Genç TV and Gönyeli Alayköy Municipality.
The event was attended by President Ersin Tatar, President of the Assembly of the Republic Zorlu Töre, Republican Turkish Party Deputy Sami Özuslu, Mayor of Gönyeli Alayköy Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, Former Minister and Deputy Serdar Denktaş, Director of the Department of Culture Şirin Zaferyıldızı, Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Kıbrıs Genç TV Founding President Ertan Birinci, Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Meltem Onay and many guests attended.

The documentary screening event started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem.
In his speech at the event, President Ersin Tatar pointed out that Ecevit signed the Cyprus Peace Operation and emphasized that Ecevit took part in the struggle with his peaceful personality and was also the representative of workers, employees and laborers, was extremely important.

In his speech at the event, President of the Assembly of the Republic, Zorlu Töre, stated that historical leaders will not be forgotten and noted that Bülent Ecevit was the most important personality in the Turkish army's landing in Cyprus. Töre said that the ceremonies held in front of the monument of Bülent Ecevit, located at the entrance of Göçmenköy, Nicosia, should be turned into a state ceremony.

Gönyeli Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu, in his speech, said that when Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Board of Trustees Chairman and Kıbrıs Genç TV Founding President Ertan Birinci offered cooperation for this important event, he accepted without hesitation because Ecevit is of great importance for the Turkish Cypriot people.

Speaking at the event, Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Board of Trustees Chairman and Kıbrıs GENÇ TV Founding President Ertan Birinci said in his speech: "Today, on the 50th anniversary of the Peace Operation, we commemorate Ecevit, the Prime Minister of the time," he said. Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Meltem Onay said that Nebil Özgentürk, who left his mark on cultural history, touched every person with his works. Master Director Nebil Özgentürk, the chief architect of the event, talked about his documentary in his speech and pointed out that “poetry and art heal.’’ Özgentürk also touched upon the happiness of having paid his debt of loyalty to Ecevit.

Following the speeches, the biography of documentary director Nebil Özgentürk was watched.

The event continued with the screening of popular director Özgentürk's masterpiece documentary, which blended the poems and narration of Bülent Ecevit with his own voice.

The documentary caused a flood of emotions in the hall. The event ended with Özgentürk's book signing ceremony.
