A training protocol was signed between OKKÜ and DENKTAS FOUNDATION
An education protocol was signed between Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University (OKKU) and Denktaş Foundation. In the agreement signed at OKKU Rector's Office on Friday, 27 January 2023 at 10:00, the educational benefit of Denktaş Foundation at Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University was mentioned. During the protocol signing ceremony, Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Remziye TERKAN and Onbeş Kasım Cyprus University Secretary General Dr. Meryem BIRINCI were also present. In the signed protocol, the importance of the work between OKKÜ and Denktaş Foundation to provide educational benefits to young people who do not have the financial means to receive education and the fact that the date of the agreement was the birthday of the founding President, Rauf Denktaş, added a different meaning. Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Remziye TERKAN took the first word before the ceremony, noting that the fact that the training protocol is being carried out with such a beautiful purpose is riveted by the meaning and importance of the day, and continued as follows.
“Today is a special day for us. We are signing an education protocol with the Denktaş Foundation on the birth date of our Founding President Rauf Denktaş and on this important and special date, as we do every year. We are on duty to convey his values to our youth. Today, we are happy and proud to sign the training protocol with the Chairman of Denktaş Foundation, Mr. Serdar Denktaş.” After Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Rector Prof. Dr.TERKAN, Mr. Ertan BIRINCI, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University, took the word. BIRINCI stated that he agreed with the statements of the University Rector TERKAN and expressed his pride and happiness because the date of the agreement was the 99th birthday of our founding President Rauf Denktaş. BIRINCI continued his words as follows; “On this birthday of our Founding President, Mr. Rauf Denktaş, he is an immortal and unchangeable leader for us and he is the foundation of our Republic. The Denktaş Foundation, with the cooperation protocol that our university will make today with his Foundation, will offer our two esteemed young people the opportunity to study and will grant scholarships. We are very happy to sign such cooperation. We would like to thank Serdar Denktaş, and we present our respects.” Mr. Serdar DENKTAŞ, the chairman of the Denktaş Foundation took the word and expressed his happiness for signing an education protocol with Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University, named after the founding date of our Republic, and continued his words as follows: “I am happy to sign such a protocol with Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University on the 99th birthday of the Founding President. I want to express my thanks to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Ertan Birinci, and to the esteemed Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University Rector Prof. Dr. Remziye Terkan. In this way, our two young people who do not have financial means will continue their education and we will continue to support them as long as they are successful by completing their Master's programs if they wish.” Denktaş said, “Years ago, as the Rauf Denktaş education foundation, we helped 57 young people with their education starting from secondary school, and today we see that they work in various places and at the upper level. I hope our children will also see that this process initiated by the Denktaş Foundation and Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University, will help many young people working in good places," Denktaş stated that he wanted to give more information and said that the statue of the Founding President will be unveiled on Tuesday, January 31 at 11:00 in Cumhuriyet Park. He stated that it will be done in the Monument of the Founding President. Denktaş stated that all the expenses of the statue were covered by the Casino Club, and thanked the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Onbeş Kasım Kıbrıs University and the University Rector for providing this nice opportunity. After the speeches, the education protocol between OKKU and Rauf Denktaş Foundation was signed by the Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, Mr. Ertan Birinci, and the Chairman of the Denktaş Foundation, Mr. Serdar Denktaş, with the wish of good luck. The parties wished the agreement to be beneficial and auspicious after the signing.
