Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG)

Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG) Undergraduate Program has been prepared to contribute to personal and professional development through theoretical knowledge and applications. The field of Psychological Counseling and Guidance aims to train the psychological counselors that every field needs. It has aimed to train professional staff who have the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of the PCG field, can offer a wide range of services specific to the field, are sensitive to people, have respect for individual and social differences, curiosity and understanding, can integrate professional development and individual development, and have the flexibility to work with various segments of the society.

The students attending the program acquire competencies in human development, psychological foundations, socio-cultural foundations, educational foundations, helping skills, group counseling and guidance skills, professional development, individual recognition and evaluation, statistics, research and program evaluation, ethics and guidance in the field of psychological counseling and guidance in legal matters.

Students who graduate from the program have the competence to know the basic concepts and principles of Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG), to evaluate the developmental characteristics and problems specific to their life periods, and to offer individual and group psychological counseling and guidance services in line with the psycho-social needs of individuals.
