Onbeş Kasım Cyprus University English Preparatory School aims to provide students enrolled in our undergraduate and postgraduate programs with the global language competence and academic skills necessary to successfully pursue their studies. Structured in accordance with today’s internationalized educational standards, our preparatory program aims to develop not only students’ language proficiency but also their critical thinking, academic research, and effective communication skills in international environments.
Our educational model is delivered through a modular system from A1 breakthrough level to B2/C1 upper-intermediate/advanced levels in compliance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards. Following placement and exemption examinations, students’ language levels are determined, ensuring they receive instruction in classes tailored to their specific needs. Modern language teaching techniques and digital learning platforms are effectively utilized in courses delivered by experienced local and international academic staff.
The curriculum offered at the English Preparatory School addresses the four core language skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking within an academic framework. Our students acquire practical skills such as academic essay writing, presentation techniques, effective note-taking, and literature review. Through assessments conducted at the end of each completed level, student progress is closely monitored, providing a solid academic foundation for students progressing to their respective faculty departments.
